Yes, it's roadtrip time again! This time was a lot of fun because we have 8 people going together in a 15-passanger Van!
May 23, 2003 (Friday), my crew came down to Houston from College Station. I got the rental 15-Passanger Van afterwork. Ready to start our MISSION!!!!
Left: This is the gigantic Van we are talking about. Eight of us, Federico, Carlos, Anthony, Mandy, Harris, Cynthia, Yvette and me, spent over 800 miles on this thing that weekend. Federico and Carlos were our Designated Drivers. They were the only persons who can operate this big thing. Good Job!
Right: Inside the Van, we have all our On-the-road supplies - unlimited snacks, drinks, CDs, Paper towel, maps, pillows, blanket.... you name it.
Left: One of our big mission in this trip was to hunt for SCALLOP in the muddy beach between Corpus Christi and North Padre Island. So our first stop was Corpus Christi. Here we have the girl representatives of the hunting team getting all ready! Hats - Check, Tools - Check, sunglasses - Check, sunscreen lotion - Check. Ready to Rock'n Roll!
Right: All of us have got our new Scallop-hunting Shoes from Wal-mart. So colorful!
Left: After several hours in the muddy beach, we got ONE scallop and around 20 medium-size crabs. So we decided to change our plan. We switched to hunt for Crab instead. We changed our venue as well. We went to some dam somewhere between some highways that some guy we met in the beach told us. Here are our boy representatives in the team hunting real hard for Crab.
Right: We got 13 Big Crabs more from the dam.
Left: That's right, we even brought our own WOK to the roadtrip! What's more - seasonings, chopsticks, noodles, ginger.... That dinner was one of the Main Part of our Roadtrip. Our Chief Chef Cynthia was cooking "Ginger Spring Onion Stir Fry Crab". For those who had this dish before, you know what I'm talking about. We also boiled those bigger ones.
Right: Big Feast!!!! Fresh crabs are really Yummy!
Left: While we're in Corpus Christi, 8 of us squeezed in a 2-bedroom suites. So 4 girls was sharing the same bed for 2 nights there. Still plenty of room. Beds in America are just BIG.
Right: After Corpus Christi, our next stop was AUSTIN. A friend of mine was throwing a party in a 2-Million worth house next to Lake Travis. It was a nice house... maybe I should say Mansion. Facing the lake, with its own Pool and Jacuzzi, own dock to launch boat, jetski, sail boats. Some pretty crazy things happened in that party as far as I know.
Left: Our after party picture. Now 8 people are staying in the same hotel room with 2 beds and 1 futon. So Harris and Anthony sacrificed and slept on the floor. This is kind of a buzzing picture.
Right: Man, I don't know what to say in this picture. I am just so glad I captured this moment! Right, Federico? Haha!!
